Luapula Province Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ms. Prudence Chinama, last year commissioned and officially handed over seven (7) projects in Chienge district which have been constructed using the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). at the total cost of about K7,362,541.01.
The projects include a 1 by 3 classroom block and ablution with flushable toilets at Njelesani, and Njikalilwa Primary schools which are located in Mununga area under His Royal Highness Senior Chief Mununga . The two community schools have been completed at the total cost of K910, 814.82 and K1,329, 589,.82 respectively.
Other school infrastructure commissioned includes a 1 by 3 class room block at Chibabila Primary School at K895, 801.83, a science laboratory at Lunchinda Secondary School worth K997, 183.71, Chitofwe 1 by 3 class room and an ablution block completed at K1,331,003.93, 1 by 3 class room block at Kabendwe Primary School at
K771,751.38, and Chienge Boma Market infrastructure which has been constructed at a total cost of K1,126,395.42 all in Senior Chief Puta’s Chiefdom.
During the commissioning and handing over, Ms. Chinama commended the Chienge Local Authority for their strides in developing the district using the CDF. She emphasized that the government, under President Hakainde Hichilema’s leadership, is committed to fulfilling its promises to the people of Chienge district and the country at large. She echoed and re-emphasized that the government has made resources available to build these projects, seeking to leave no one behind in education.
