This department is primarily charged with the responsibility of overseeing all financial related issues of the institution.
The Department is headed by the Council Treasurer who is assisted by the Deputy Council Treasurer, the District Accountant and other officers who are in charge of the various sections.
Functions of finance department
Each section is responsible for specific tasks.
Revenue Section
The section is headed by an Accountant and the section is responsible for the collection of all types of revenue the Council is mandated to collect.
Expenditure Section
The section is headed by an Accountant and is responsible for making all payments such as salaries to employees, payments to suppliers of goods services and CDF projects.
Establishment Section
The section is headed by an Accountant and is responsible for preparation of payroll for council employees, maintenance of records for statutory obligations such ZRA-PAYE, NAPSA and other Employees deductions. The section is also responsible for calculation of terminal benefits for all council employees.
Accountancy Section
The section is headed by an Accountant and the section is responsible for preparation of financial reports, annual budget estimates, and income and expenditure reports. It also monitors and gives guidance on proposed expenditures for all council Departments.
Information Technology Section
The section is headed by an IT Specialist and it has the following responsibilities;
